Shabby Vintage Vanity and Stool Redo

Vanity with Love and Dreams

                                                                 "Gloria"
This vanity evolved as I went, I only knew I wanted to use Linen White and do some distressing.

The stool I found at GW after finishing the vanity.
I painted the base white and covered the top in drop cloth, then
added a white cotton skirt ( DIY TIP) the white stool skirt is from a bed ruffle skirt!
Easy and perfect with the eyelet's on the bottom)
then (DIY TIP) I added a polyester ruffle from a skirt I purchased
and thought I would wear, now Gloria has it!

I painted the wood carving legs and upper mirror spindle's brown
hated to cover up those details

Love the curves!

I even lined the drawers with sheet music, need to add THAT
Photo!

I hated to part with this lovely piano sheet music
1929 "When my Dreams Come True" by Irving Berlin
and Love "Your Spell is Everywhere" sung by
Gloria Swanson
Isn't she beautiful? that is her
Women where so soft looking then!
WELL, anyway I know I would never take that
sweet of a picture.

update!!
Forgot to put this picture in of the sheet music
that I lined the drawers with!

I did take a lot of pictures, even have more, could not stop!
Sorry about the double watermarks, I had so much trouble posting!  Pictures take time for me?
Did not want to EVEN start over.
Now, for the BEFORE

Vintage Brass Tin Plate Redo

Do you remember these Brass/Tin Plates?

You see them at Thrift stores all the time!
I kept seeing them and remembered these from
long ago when I was growing up!  Grandmother and all her friends had them!  Aging myself, oh well, I love the patina and fruit design on these old things.  Something different and full of memories for me.

So I had to buy it and do something!!!
Perfect little hanger on the back, so easy!
A little white paint brushed on, worked for me,
I love bringing something back with a redo, they come in
different sizes and designs.  I don't know what the true name
is, so I call them Brass/Tin plates?

I am posting this from Biloxi, Mississippi, I have been away
from Nevada (home) for several weeks, oldest Granddaughter's
High School Graduation and helping my Daughter and the grandchildren (3)!!!  Her Husband was deployed to Afghanistan.  Bless all the Service Men and Women!

So Great for me, being with far away family that you love and miss so much!  Just wanted to share and also to get a posting up!!!  I have so many to do YET!
Take Care

My Mother's Painting

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF YOU!  I WISH YOU A WONDERFUL DAY!

I proudly share this oil painting done by my Mother who did this painting for me in 2006 and finished this painting even after having a stroke.  She is going to be 89 years young this December and doing fantastic, still painting when able.  She started painting in her Senior Year's, so it is never to late to do your passion!  Thank you Mom!

Now this Mother, must get back to work, I have completed 4 pieces of furniture and must get them on my blog.  Well as soon as Time Allows!  Check back and take care!
