Fall and Pumpkin 2014 Decor

     

Pumpkins, Pinecones, Sunflowers, and Cat Tails my favorite for Fall!

Fall is in the air, leaves are changing and decorating for fall

is fun.  You can still use most everything for Halloween and Thanksgiving,  just add Spooky for Halloween and then Turkey items for Thanksgiving.  That's 3 Décor Decorating times until Xmas, no other time can you leave you hard work out that long to enjoy!

 I have a new Tablescape with a Tutorial,  a new Fall Mantel

Décor, with an easy Banner.  Front Porch Fall Décor, and just some Fall Décor.  

I love Pumpkins, to look at and EAT!  I wanted Just Pumpkins for my Tablescape but nothing to put them on?  I also did not have just the right candle holders, but no problem after a few days this is what I came up with.

Pine Cones from local trees in a Mason Jar!
Just painted the lids, perfect size to hold the candles.

I had these fence boards from another project, but they are very inexpensive.  I just cut them to the size I wanted, then cut two for the bottom.  I did not want the legs to show, so I cut them shorter.
these serve two purposes, holds the three top boards together and I wanted to easily lift the whole wooden tray for room when eating in large groups.

I get in a hurry when doing some projects, didn't want to get the drill out and drill bits, so easy peasy, just nail a hole to easily get your screw in, they go in sooo much easier

I had these stain for the other project I did not do,
so glad I saved them.  Now they are ready to White Wash.

I just used some diluted white paint on a
dry brush, just play with it until you like the
distressed look.

I loved arranging my stash of pumpkins, this worked for me.

I did this hutch a few years ago and enjoy changing it up for all occasions.  All the pumpkin items were bought at, yes
Thrift stores and Garage sales!

OK, I need your help, anyone know anything about these Pumpkin side dishes I bought in early 1980's.  There is an "S" on the bottom but no luck for me finding the maker.

These dishes are gold, not a good picture here.


Now for the Fall Mantel Décor

This is my first home of many NOT have a Mantel,
Oh, I have had fireplaces, but no Mantel.  So I take great pleasure in finally Decorating it.

I had this webbing, over a year now, knowing I would do something with it someday!  You know when your out and about and see something you like, get it!  That my motto!

This is all I did, and I have plenty left Too!

Before we go outside, this is my hanging wreath as
you exit.  I put this outside last year on the house, but without the Sunflowers.  Every changing things, sound
familiar?

My porch décor is similar to last year, but a new wreath to match my fall vase décor.  I made the scrap wood pumpkin last year.

If you know me, I use Cat tails for everything,
they grew in abundance here, they fascinate me.

Easy Spring Easter Wreath

Happy Spring to all my visitors!

I was a little under the weather, even though it is around 75 degrees and so sunny, but unable to go out and get supplies for a new Wreath for Spring.  It was time to take my St Patty's Wreath down!  My neighbors know me, and must be wondering, what's up with her? 

I had the twig wreath that I use for many occasions and went to my Easter box to check on what did I stash last year?  Yes, found artificial flowers with eggs, now how lucky was that!  Most of use can use items we already have, right?

Below is all it took!

Just clip off the thick stem bottom and then just stick the individual stems in and place where you like!

This made me feel much better and took very little time!

Christmas Decor to Share

Merry Christmas From our Home to Yours!

Yes, that is our cat in the tree, so this one is for Her!  Just

one strand of lights and a topper.  I just had to have one fresh tree

to put presents under for family.

Leopard poinsettia for Sheba (kitty)

My special tinsel tree, all the vintage ornaments I found on my last antique shopping trip with my 

Brother Mike, RIP. He was so tickled I found them in the shop where he had a space!

Remember these trees?  I have had this since 1970!

By now you know I love Trees!

Yes, inspired from Pinterest, I did it!  Spray painted the

frame, had the screen, and did purchase the ornaments.

The trunk was made from an ornament I had, little package in gold,

perfect, and I was lucky to find the star ornament for the topper!

This took patience, but so happy I made this project.

This is the inside of our entry door.  This Wreath was simple to make, I purchased these leopard poinsettias to put on a tree, but with the cat climbing in and out of our live tree, the idea came to me to make a wreath!  I just used a twig wreath and the the poinsettia's had a clip on their back, it was fast and easy.

I love Santa's too!  The tree is done in all my Santa ornaments from years past.

Would you believe my sweet Brother Rick, found these for me, he knew I had been 

looking for for them.  I have 5 brothers and only two are not into collecting various items,

The fever is in the family.  Love ya, Rick!

I made my own vintage feather tree 3 years ago, used small cookie cutters 

and put cinnamon pine cones in my husbands vintage bowl.  Love this for the kitchen!

I do have more to share but need to go, it is Christmas Morning and family will be arriving, I have been away for a while, I lost my Brother Mike to Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis November 25th, it is only 1 month today, I miss him so much and it has been hard, but with family coming and needing to be there for others, has kept me going.  Give lots of hugs today and say "I love You" to close ones!

I hope everyone has family surrounding them today,

4th of July and Pussy Willow/Cat Tail DIY

I hope all of you are staying cool, So hot here, record heat temperatures!

I want to wish everyone a great 4th of July!  mine will be a quiet one, which is fine, June was wonderful, family visiting plus a camping reunion in which I might add I caught the most fish!  :)

My 4th DIY is again from my love of the cat tails that I collect every fall.  I have been sharing my obsession, using them for all holiday, and putting them in floral arrangements.  If you check out Pussy Willow/Cat tails under my Labels, you will see more plus a tutorial on painting them.  I Just so admire them, and they are very plentiful here.  Who knows what I will do next?  

4th of July Front Porch Decor

Just spray painted.

I used my patriotic Roo last year, love him!

Twig Valentine Heart

Twig Heart For Valentine Decor

I must say I saw a twig heart on

Pinterest and the thought of twigs inspired

me to do one for Valentine's!

 I preceded to figure out just how to do one!

Below I will share!

information on the source, so wanting to give credit

I was tickled when I was done,
I might add it was a challenge for me.



This is what I did:
I gathered twigs, lucky that the snow had melted and it warmed during the day!
Draw a heart on a poster board the size you want.
Cut twigs the size you need to fill in your heart.
I used rose clippers.
Spray paint twigs!
The hard part, picture frame hanger wire to
attach twigs.  I wondered if string would have
worked?
Finally, hang with ribbon or I used a scrap of material.

My Valentine Burlap Wreath

 Yes, another burlap wreath!!!
 I have seen many now on the web and wanted to do one from First sight, I have worked with burlap before and as others, love the stuff.  Just had to show off mine because I know, who else but bloggers, visitors,, and Pinterest viewers, who have so much in common and can appreciate the love of making something!   

I want to give credit to the last burlap wreath I saw and followed Laura's great instructions.  source nice blog too! 
 Ok, here is mine!



Anyone recognize the red inner heart with the little bell?   It was from Target and a Xmas ornament, I knew when I saw it, I wanted to use it some how for Valentines!  I just glued it onto a heart I cut out from pink poster board.
I then glued white rick rack on the back of the pink heart, leaving
just a trim of white showing.  See below to see the back of the heart.




What i love is that you can use the wreath
for many Holiday's,  just embellish!
